Once
these have been ascertained the next step is in choosing
your access method - dial up or broadband. Dial up is surprisingly
still very common in developed countries particularly amongst
those who classify themselves as low users - "I
just want to check my email" who will pay for
their access on a pay as you go or low rate unlimited access
monthly fee.
Broadband
Internet is available to those subscribing to cable, DSL
(or ADSL) or commercial T1 services - often prompting those
who made the change to utter "I can't believe I waited
so long!” The always on era has dawned and burst into
full daylight and many are now enjoying the cost and time
saving benefits of the information super highway commonly
known as 'Broadband'. Broadband is ‘always on’,
and you can talk on the phone and use the internet at the
same time.
Broadband
is now available in a wide range of pricing and capacity
options from low bandwidth 256Kbps to a mind numbing 20Mbp/s
and growing exponentially. On a like for like cost comparison
there is absolutely no basis for opting for dial up on a
pay monthly basis.
What are the other benefits of broadband apart from doing
everything dial up did quicker, cheaper and quieter (dial
up users will relate to that) ?
